Erdem is a partner in McKinsey’s Financial Services Practice and a leader in the firm’s retail banking work in the EEMA region. He focuses on transforming core consumer banking businesses—across channels, segments, and products—to drive sustainable growth, improve productivity, and strengthen customer primacy.
He has led large-scale transformations for leading banks, covering retail strategy, operating model redesign, and execution. His work includes driving end-to-end retail turnarounds through pricing, sales, and retention levers; redesigning segment value propositions across affluent and mass segments; and improving distribution effectiveness and frontline productivity. He has also shaped product strategies and profitability models, helping institutions unlock new revenue streams and optimize balance sheet performance.
Erdem brings deep experience in leveraging digital and advanced analytics to scale impact. He has established analytics centers of excellence, deployed pricing and personalization models, and led AI-enabled domain transformations across acquisition, engagement, and risk—delivering measurable improvements in growth and efficiency.
In parallel, he works with banks and fintechs to build and scale new digital businesses. His experience includes launching digital banks, embedded finance models, and digital lending propositions—defining value propositions and driving go-to-market execution to create new growth engines.
Before joining McKinsey, Erdem worked at Microsoft on cloud ecosystem development; before that, he previously held roles in consumer channels and engineering.
