Cara serves as the managing partner of McKinsey’s Pittsburgh office and leads the firm’s Medicare and Special Needs Population (SNP) work within our Social Sector, Healthcare, & Public Sector Entities Practice. She serves payers, providers, integrated delivery networks, distributors, and healthcare service organizations on a diverse set of industry priorities. Her experience and areas of expertise include growth strategy, transformations, product design and launches, new business development, care model design and deployment for complex populations, and regulatory compliance across the healthcare sector.

Examples of Cara’s recent client work include:

  • leading a comprehensive transformation for one of the nation’s largest integrated delivery networks
  • designing and launching a new organization-wide operating model and structure for a leading insurance distributor to drive M&A synergies and unlock white space growth opportunities
  • building and deploying a new Dual Eligible Special Needs Population (D-SNP) business and P&L for a top health insurer
  • executing multiple Medicare Advantage Stars quality program turnarounds, helping several carriers achieve and maintain 4+ star ratings
  • enhancing retrenchment and margin sustainability through product redesign and member care coordination for several Medicare insurers
