Charlie is a partner in McKinsey’s Connecticut office and leads the firm’s cybersecurity and technology resilience work across North America and Europe, advising boards and the C-suite on how to build security programs to meet emerging threats. He works with leaders across banking, critical infrastructure, and life sciences to build security foundations, prepare for new technologies, and integrate effectively across the business.

His recent experience includes the following:

  • designing an identity and access management program for a global investment bank and asset management programs for multiple North American banks as well as a European insurer
  • leading a team to build a set of gen-AI-enabled tools to deliver rapid end-to-end strategies, supporting companies across multiple industries (including utilities, agriculture, and banking)
  • identifying risks and solutions related to the buildout of global capability centers for a bank and consumer packaged goods company
  • analyzing the effectiveness of the second line of defense for technology and cyber risk for an American bank and European conglomerate

Charlie focuses on the governance and security of agentic AI, helping organizations define risk ownership, design controls, and establish secure deployment patterns. He also examines how increased autonomy changes the cyber risk landscape and where providers and adopters can strengthen safety in AI-enabled systems. Through his leadership, Charlie continues to drive innovation and strategic thinking in the cybersecurity domain, ensuring that organizations are well-equipped to handle the evolving landscape of digital threats and opportunities.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Charlie served for 13 years in the U.S. Army, where he worked as an officer dealing with cyber operations and continues to serve in the Army Reserves as an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy. Charlie is a member of the National Advisory Board of Blue Star Families and the board of directors of the Harvard Veterans Alumni Organization.
