Cristián is the leader of the Risk Practice in Latin America and a member of the B2F and Digital Practices in the region.

Cristián is a Partner at McKinsey in the Santiago office. He joined the firm in 2007 and has worked extensively with a variety of institutions, particularly financial ones, in the region on projects related to strategy, digitalization (AA, E2E, etc.), risk management (first and second line of defense), transformation, and operational improvement.

Some of his recent client work includes the following:

  • Leading the transformation of the operating model between risk, business, and support areas to enhance agility and resilience in banks across Latin America.
  • Supporting end-to-end risk area transformations, including financial, non-financial, and capital risks, with improvements in efficiency and effectiveness for multiple entities in the region.
  • Assisting in the development of strategies and the implementation of holistic transformations in various entities in the region.
  • Defining ESG strategies for Financial Groups in Latin America.
  • Building digital factories in multiple entities, encompassing end-to-end digitalization, development of Advanced Analytics, creation of data infrastructure and governance, demand management, channel and platform development, and more.
  • Developing strategies and digital strategies for banks and insurers across multiple entities in the region.
