Erik co-leads McKinsey’s global work in Physical AI and robotics, as well as our Industrial & Electronics Practice in Japan and our global growth strategy service line. He serves industrial and technology companies on transformational growth, helping them capture opportunities created by robotics, automation, advanced connectivity, and AI-enabled physical systems. 

Erik works with incumbents and start-ups to identify new growth platforms, build advantaged positions in emerging markets, and scale businesses globally. His client work combines corporate and business-unit strategy with programmatic M&A, ecosystem partnerships, commercial excellence, and execution support. 

He brings deep experience across industrial technology, robotics and automation, electronics, communications services, and advanced connectivity. Increasingly, his work focuses on the convergence of AI, hardware, software, sensors, and infrastructure—and what this means for the next generation of industrial and technology growth. 

Erik is passionate about helping Japanese companies expand globally and helping international companies succeed in Japan.
