Jonathan leads McKinsey’s European defense work and was previously the leader of McKinsey’s Social Sector, Healthcare, & Public Sector Entities Practice in Europe.

Jonathan’s work focuses on end-to-end improvement across strategy, analytics, operations, finance, organization, and the workforce. Increasingly, this involves building client capabilities in digital delivery and analytics, accelerating benefits capture, and de-risking major programs.

Jonathan particularly focuses on:

  • defense: helping to improve people and equipment readiness and defense system agility and resilience
  • public finance: advising on inward investment, economic diversification, tax, customs, welfare, and budgeting topics
  • resilience: advising on energy, net-zero, infrastructure, and nature topics

Outside his client work, Jonathan publishes research on a variety of topics in collaboration with the McKinsey Global Institute and leading academics. In a voluntary capacity, he set up Clinic Africa, is a trustee of the Orthogeriatric Research Fund, and supports Foodbank Aid, Grief Encounter, and World Jewish Relief.
