Jules is a senior partner and global coleader for McKinsey’s Travel, Logistics & Infrastructure Practice. In more than 25 years at McKinsey, Jules has served leading organizations and institutions around the world to drive large-scale change. In the travel sector, he advises major hotels, airlines, car rental companies, cruise lines, travel technology platforms, urban transit organizations, and online travel agencies. Across logistics, he serves on topics spanning supply chain and distribution, including warehousing, postal and parcel services, e-commerce fulfillment, trucking logistics, and transport infrastructure such as freight rail, passenger rail, and urban transit.
Jules supports clients to set and deliver on their bold ambitions—often guiding them in large-scale transformation, efficiency, growth, and technology programs. These can encompass setting strategic direction, assessing the potential scale of the opportunity, sharpening the vision and forming the case for change, and then driving and executing to deliver the outcomes both organically and through M&A activity.
Previously, Jules led and grew QuantumBlack in North America, McKinsey’s AI arm. He continues to form perspectives on how organizations can capitalize on opportunities using analytics and AI to improve decision-making, boost performance, and drive efficiency.
Examples of his recent client experience include:
- supporting both a major airline and a leading hotel company to redevelop their respective loyalty offerings, using customer analytics to map the drivers of loyalty behavior, redesigning program elements and benefits to better match customer needs, and assessing the loyalty technology, payments flow, and broader technology needs to drive future program performance
- establishing and helping deliver the large-scale transformation of a global logistics company by assessing the full potential of the business, setting bold aspirations and specific targets, putting in place performance and accountability infrastructure, and driving waves of execution to significantly overdeliver on the program while additionally framing potential plans to grow as a digital disruptor
- supporting a global car rental company’s organizational restructuring, refining its operational fleet management, and developing its mobility and electrification strategy
- assessing a transport technology company’s strategy and transformation effort to boost performance with an eye on future growth, including sharpening the customer experience, driving cost savings, engineering productivity, ensuring sales improvements, and undertaking customer and market trend analyses
- developing future ridership and revenue/cost scenarios for an urban transit authority by conducting GDP and econometric modeling drawing on commute, leisure, and tourism travel trends, as well as developing an AI-based workforce demand forecasting tool to support staff scheduling and hiring needs
- providing an analytical perspective on the future of work for a US state by helping the governor and cabinet assess new remote/hybrid work models, commute patterns, automation, and technology shifts
