Kaushik Das is Senior Partner and Global CoLeader of McKinsey Board Services, the firm’s dedicated practice supporting Boards and CEOs on governance, effectiveness, leadership, and long-term value creation. He previously served as Managing Partner for Southeast Asia and Managing Partner of McKinsey’s Indonesia office.
Passionate about the future of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Kaushik serves clients in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand on issues related to sustainability, growth, competitiveness, and productivity. He has experience working across industries — including energy, basic materials, logistics, consumer products, and the public sector — and in numerous markets throughout Asia, including Australia, India and Japan.
In his global role, Kaushik works closely with Boards and executive teams on some of their most consequential topics: defining long-term strategic ambition, shaping organization-wide transformation, including major AI and technology shifts, strengthening leadership and CEO succession pipelines, and enhancing board effectiveness and resilience. He regularly convenes Board Chairs and directors around the world to exchange perspectives, build capability, and elevate governance practices.
Kaushik also brings deep experience working with family-owned enterprises — helping next-generation leaders navigate transitions, clarify ownership goals, and build governance models that support enduring performance. Alongside his client work, he leads Board leadership and capability-building initiatives globally, including strategic convenings and knowledge partnerships with leading institutions.
Kaushik is deeply committed to youth development in the region. He champions McKinsey’s YL4I program in Southeast Asia, a program designed to develop the next generation of leaders in the country and other social initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Kaushik was based in McKinsey’s London office, where he served clients in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy.
