Luciano coleads McKinsey’s Energy Solutions globally. He joined McKinsey in 2009 and has since served clients in the North American unconventional resources, global upstream, oilfield services, midstream, and low-carbon fuel sectors, advising clients on a variety of strategy and M&A issues.
Examples of his recent client projects include:
- redesigning an international oil company’s strategy, which involved allocating over $100 billion in capital for the ten-year plan and developing a model to assess the impact of changes in asset portfolio on key financial metrics
- helping a South American oil company understand the implications of the energy transition for its portfolio by assessing the impact on its current portfolio and identifying initiatives to tap into low-carbon fuels
- supporting an international oilfield services company in shaping its views on how the energy market will evolve, leading to rethinking its strategy and assessing where to play
- assisting a manufacturing company in understanding the refining outlook for North America and developing estimates on heavy refining output required by the client to assess the availability of raw materials over the next ten to 15 years
Before joining McKinsey, Luciano worked as a senior planning analyst at an Argentine oil and gas independent with operations in Argentina, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
