Matt leads McKinsey’s Operations Practice in the United Kingdom and Ireland. In Europe, Matt is a leader of our work on consumer goods, retail, and supply chain management.

Matt advises clients on end-to-end operations performance, including digital and AI-enabled transformation of operations, with particular emphasis on supporting consumer packaged goods and retail companies through end-to-end supply chain optimization and operating model design. He works with clients to understand the nuances of their business models and the challenges and opportunities they face, helping them use their operations to deliver strategic objectives and capture tangible value.

Examples of his recent client work include the following:

  • supporting a global food and ingredient producer to simplify its business, including process automation and digitization, delivering millions in productivity improvements over four years
  • working with two leading food distributors on post-merger preparation, identifying millions in synergies and developing value-capture plans
  • working with a global consumer health company to integrate a major acquisition, then working to create a fit-for-purpose “fast-moving consumer health” operating model, addressing post-separation synergies
  • working with a global beverage company to deliver productivity improvements through zero-based productivity (ZBP) and organizational effectiveness
  • helping a leading global beverage company redesign its supply chain operating model to improve customer service and save millions by consolidating plants and warehouses
  • working with a global food company to accelerate innovation through application of process automation and AI, including gen AI
  • developing a comprehensive supply chain strategy for a global apparel maker to enable 50 percent topline growth over five years through strategic initiatives and the development of capabilities

Matt has deep experience driving successful business performance improvements and strategic transformations. Before joining McKinsey, he held senior operational roles at a US home improvement retailer.
