Scott is the global coleader of McKinsey’s Electric Power & Natural Gas Practice. He advises CEOs and senior executives at electric and gas utilities on their most important strategic questions and enterprise transformations, improving operational performance, strengthening execution, and creating better outcomes for customers.
Over the past 15 years, Scott has worked with utilities across North America and globally to develop and execute ambitious performance agendas spanning core operations, digital and technology, customer service, grid modernization, and corporate functions. His work also helps organizations harness AI and digital technologies to navigate an increasingly complex energy landscape.
Scott’s recent client work includes:
- leading an enterprise performance transformation that reduced operating costs by more than 10 percent over a three-year period
- leading a customer-service transformation for a large utility, significantly improving customer satisfaction while reducing operating costs
- assessing multibillion-dollar capital projects for schedule and cost efficiencies using AI and other tools
- guiding a comprehensive redesign of customer-facing functions that reduced costs, streamlined processes, and improved service delivery
Scott earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Brown University. Before joining McKinsey, he served in the United States Army.
