Ulrike is a partner in McKinsey’s Stuttgart office with 12 years of experience in digital transformation in insurance across all lines of business. She leads McKinsey’s ecosystem knowledge development for insurance in Europe, and has advised a wide range of clients on ecosystem approaches in healthcare, mobility, home, and finance. She is also a geographical leader in Germany for the McKinsey Health Institute, a non-profit-generating entity within the firm that aspires to catalyze action to add 45 billion years of higher-quality life for all people around the world.

Ulrike’s extensive experience ranges from leading the digital transformation of a large European insurer to developing ecosystem strategies for various major companies—including private and public insurers, reinsurers, and online pharmacies—and building up new digital attackers and national health insurance greenfield in various countries around the world.

Throughout her projects, Ulrike has advised clients on topics ranging from vision and strategy development to implementation, including organizational governance, capabilities, advanced analytics approaches, and state-of-the-art technology platforms. Her expertise covers digital transformation of the entire value chain: from improving product development, marketing and sales, pricing, services, and claims, to tapping into new value pools outside of the core business.

Ulrike earned her doctoral and Master’s degree at the Oxford Internet Institute of University of Oxford, her focus was on digital health and new data and analytics approaches for large-scale data analysis. She has freelanced for international organizations, including OECD and the Government of Estonia.
