Sebastian’s client work centers on accelerating sales performance, scaling services businesses, redesigning operating models, and leading enterprise-wide transformations with measurable bottom-line impact. He serves as Global Co-Leader of McKinsey’s Advanced Industries Lifecycle Practice and has published extensively on winning in services and recurring revenue models.

In addition, he supports corporate and investor clients across the full M&A lifecycle — from strategy and due diligence to post-merger value creation.

  • leading capacity scale-up for defense and industrial player (value stream transparency, supply chain optimization, ramp-up steering)
  • leading several complex M&A processes in defense, automotive, and industrial (equity story, IPO support, post-merger value creation)
  • leading a large-scale performance transformation for a global automotive supplier
  • scaling the solution & services business of a leading commercial vehicle OEM
  • increasing the pricing and procurement performance for a leading distributor
  • developing new digital business models—such as e-commerce and digital sales—for mobility clients
  • developing a growth strategy and aftersales-as-a-service offering for a private equity portfolio company
  • launching a holistic commercial-excellence program at a leading automotive supplier
  • developing a global strategy for the aftersales division of an automotive OEM

Sebastian has been managing partner of our Düsseldorf office, shaping the office’s growth and culture across a team of approximately 500 colleagues. He has launched our regional startup initiative and engages in transatlantic relationships - being a Young Leader of Atlantik-Brücke e.V. - as well as various social initiatives.
